Asiana Airlines fails to serve meals to their passengers after swapping caterers but throws away thousands of meals

NOTE: The airline is going into it's fifth day of not properly providing their passengers inflight meals after switching catering companies. And this isn't just for meals for short flights but also for flights that are 10+ hours long.

On JTBC News, Son Suk Hee reported that the airline's reps said that starting from today (5th), there's not going to be a no meal (no meal as in no inflight meal) flight but their flight attendants at the scenes are saying something else. The flight attendants are saying the scene is still a mess and it's not just the inflight meals that are the problem but also the basic equipments they have. They have to serve hot drinks from kettles that don't even have a lid.

Channel A reports that while some flights are having issues with supplying inflight meals to their passengers, another flight threw away more than 1000 servings of untouched inflight meals. In their reporting, you can clearly see a bag full of food that hasn't been opened. Asiana Airlines reps confirmed that some of their flights did throw away food but it was because they didn't have enough cereal bars to go with it so they discarded a batch of them...

1. [+2957, -28] You're calling that an excuse.. Because you didn't have enough cereal bars, you didn't give it. The major company's ability to handle a crisis is such shit..

2. [+1058, -34] Sighhh~~~ This is exactly like Nolbu. One side is starving to death but they throw away perfectly fine food. Sam Koo-ssi, I think you seriously need to be properly investigated (t/n: Nolbu is a character from a Korean story called 'Heungbu and Nolbu'. Heungbu is the kind brother while Nolbu is the greedy brother. You can read the story here - X. Sam Koo is also Park Sam Koo who is the chairman of Asiana Airlines)

3. [+1254, 241] The chairman of the subcontractor that committed suicide was the supplying company for Korean Airlines, the press for the KCTU (Korean Confederation of Trade Unions) and the government created a patriotic martyr, the president and even congressmen would've went to pay their condolences (t/n: tbh, I'm not quite sure what this commenter is talking about)

4. [+300, -26] This is serious....

5. [+222, -2] Are they stupid. They lack inflight meals. Therefore, if they offered a voucher with the inflight meals - there won't be any need for them to throw it away and they wont' receive any complaints. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Seeing how money is being thrown away into the air, I'm not sure if they're overflowing with money or if the owner is just shit at managing
