3. [+169, -1] I feel like she speaks quite well with logic~!

4. [+145, -3] I was completely immersed while watching, she's humble, she draws you in

Seo Jang Hoon opens up about his career as an athlete and as a TV personality on 'Conversations with Hee Yeol'

Nationwide ratings for this week's episode that aired on June 22: 4.4% (cr. Naver TV)

Seo Jang Hoon revealed that he first started sports with baseball when he was in elementary school. When he was in middle school, he was really lonely because although he was in a baseball club, all his friends attended a different school so he started to lose interest in baseball. So he wanted to transfer back to the school his friends were at but he couldn't transfer schools just because he wanted to. Back in the days, you couldn't transfer unless there were special circumstances so he was wondering what he could do to transfer. The school he was at had a basketball club and they told him that he can transfer if he was a basketball player so he entered the basketball club so that he can transfer schools. He thinks that his teacher had an idea that because Seo Jang Hoon's was already so tall, he would fit more with basketball than baseball. During this period (end of the first year in middle school), he was already 180 cm.

Although he transferred, everyone in the basketball already had 3-4 years of basketball experience because all of those athletes began playing when they were in elementary school but Seo Jang Hoon had no experience. He said that the well-versed players would practice in the middle of the court but Seo Jang Hoon would practice shooting at the side of the court. He said he got better at shooting but no one knew because he never had the experience to show people.

During the second semester of his second year in middle school, he said he and his family really contemplated the idea of him quitting basketball because they worried that at this rate, he won't even be able to go to college so they were thinking of just making him focus on his study. When they were contemplating, he slightly dislocated his leg and they decided to take a break so that he can focus on "rehabilitating". But in three months, when he was rehabilitating, he grew 12-13 cm. He was now 197 cm. When he returned, people didn't even recognize him and the sport became easier for him because now everyone who was taller than him was now shorter and his shooting got better because he's practiced it so much. He said his most memorable dunk was when he was first able to shoot successfully but no one remembers it or saw it because he was just practicing during practice but he said that first dunk resonates with him.

Regarding his career as a TV personality, he said that Yoo Jae Suk reached out to him one day and that's when he made his first guest appearance on 'Infinite Challenge'. He said that after that guest appearance on 'Infinite Challenge', the way people looked at him was different - he liked it because for the first time in a while, people were looking at him warmly.

He said that seeing how his life changed like this (from being a national athlete to a TV personality), he said that he doesn't think he can talk about life easily because you don't know how things will end up.

1. [+6835, -143] For an athlete, he has a common sense.... He's also hella smart. When you watch him solve the problems on 'Knowing Bros', even when he's making a reasoning, he takes reasonable basis and adds imagination to make an inference but he gets the answer correct ㅋㅋ He's daebak smart. He knows a lot of things and his actions are careful... and he's rich... Hmm.....
↪ [+245, -11] Someone said this one time, I think it was Choo Shin Soo?? All athletes are smart, it's just that they don't study ㅋㅋㅋ
↪ [+447, -3] I think even with athletes, the ones who are smart and have a sense are the people who succeed. Just because you try hard doesn't mean you'll succeed. Although every field is like this

2. [+2914, -105] He seems like a good person.. It doesn't look like he's faking~ He looks like he has common sense
↪ [+116, -8] A person who has common sense must've drank and drove twice ㅎ

3. [+2161, -47] I'm seriously looking at this person in a different light after they left basketball.. During his athlete days, all I remember is him cussing ㅋ

4. [+976, -23] There's no such thing as definite things in life

5. [+434, -102] I respect you.

[Conversations with Hee Yeol 2 Roundup] Han Hye Jin looks back on her modeling career and reveals that her height used to be a big complex of hers

Nationwide ratings for this episode that aired on June 1: 4.5% (cr. Naver TV)

Note: The show's title on streaming platforms like OnDemandKorea is 'Conversations with Hee Yeol' but the literal title of the show can be: 'The Joy/Pleasure of Conversations'.

During the episode, Han Hye Jin said that she was always the "tall, ugly kid". During her school years, she felt like no matter where she went it felt like she had two heads (t/n: meaning she stood out) and her wish was to just get smaller. When she was in the sixth grade, she was already 168 cm tall and she was even taller than her teacher. She said the sound of the school bell ringing was like a neurosis for her because the boys in her school would come to her to measure their height. She hated PE class to the point where she wanted to die because she would have to go outside while wearing PE clothes that were too short on her. She acknowledges that there will be people who say, while watching, that she shouldn't use that expression lightly (e.g. wanting to die just because of PE class) but she explained that when she looks back at that time now, she thinks she had agoraphobia and because of this, she didn't ride the bus or subway. She would get into trouble from her parents for always riding the taxi - she would save up her allowance and use it on taxi rides. She explained that because her height was the height of an adult but she looks like a kid and she's wearing children's clothes so people can't help but stare so that was always a fear for her. She also revealed that she loved using umbrellas on rainy days because she was able to hide her height so even now she likes rainy days the most.

Yoo Hee Yeol asked when this complex turned into self-confidence and Han Hye Jin said that it switched over when she started receiving business cards (being scouted in the streets).

1. [+1457, -36] South Korea is a country where you can only be happy if you're the average height, average weight, and average looks.. It's a country where if you even a bit away from the average, you don't get treated like a person.. It's a country where not even a bit of diversity is accepted..

2. [+675, -4] There are times when kids are evil because they're too honest(?)..

3. [+292, -21] Hye Jin-unni, I'm honestly really a fan. I really enjoyed watching the talk show

4. [+308, -41] Now, everyone is envious of her~

5. [+212, -19] She's so cool!!!~~~

6. [+112, -5] She's really good at speaking.. Even if she only talks about herself all day, I want to keep listening - she really seems like a soft-hearted person but she's cool and she lived well, I'm supporting you.

t/n: Here's a YouTube link for readers who have playback issues with Naver TV

1. [+568, -41] Han Hye Jin is really cool.. She's genuine and I think she's a good person

2. [+383, -33] Han Hye Jin is really cool.

3. [+360, -14] What's the point of hate commenters who close they eyes and ears and talk shit about Han Hye Jin, the career itself acknowledges Han Hye Jin, she's just really cool

4. [+329, -31] As a model, her philosophy is shining.

5. [+284, -27] But she's really good at speaking... She coherently speaks well

6. [+247, -25] Amazing..

IU opens up about experiencing a career slump on 'Conversations with Hee Yeol'

Note: The show's title on streaming platforms like OnDemandKorea is 'Conversations with Hee Yeol' but the literal title of the show can be: 'The Joy/Pleasure of Conversations'.

In the episode, Yoo Hee Yeol asked her, "Have you experienced a slump?" And IU revealed that she did. IU said, "When I was 22, a big slump came. At that time, when the public sees it, it was an year when I did really well. It was when I did the remake album 'A Flower Bookmark' and it was when I received good reactions again after 'Good Day' but mentally, it was the year where it was the worst. Even now, I don't know the exact reason why [it was mentally the worst year] but since my debut performance, I've never been nervous of the stage but I was suddenly scared of the stage. Shows were scary, cameras were scary, and because I'm receiving attention, my face would get red and I would sweat so I wasn't able to perform on stage." Yoo Hee Yeol then added that she didn't come out on shows that year.

On the topic of debuting at an early age, she revealed that she thinks debuting at an early age had its own benefits. "Because I started at a young age, I always heard, "You're really good for your age" but because you keep aging, I wondered if I will be able to hear the judgement that I'm doing well [without considering her age]?" But because things were working out, as it did well, she would become more anxious. She said that she felt like a bubble was becoming bigger. She was scared that once the bubble was gone, she would be really small. Panelist Daniel Lindemann wondered if it was right to consider that a bubble - he wanted her to stop considering it as a bubble. He reminded her that her fans received a lot of happiness from her songs so that isn't a bubble.

Yoo Hee Yeol then asked her how she came out of her slump and she answered, "At that time, I decided, I needed to do the producing (produce her own music). Even if the bubbles all burst and I become small, I'd rather live comfortably even if it's shabby rather than living fabulously while I'm anxious."

Author Kim Joong Hyuk said that rather than viewing it as her escaping the problem, we can view it as her encountering a wall - she sighed briefly as she saw the wall and took a break and took the bull by the horns/overcame it.

1. [+1170, -167] I'm more scared that I won't be able to see IU ㅠㅠ Please promote for a long time ^^

2. [+725, -134] The way IU thinks is completely unique.. It feels like it's careful and she's like a kid-adult who thinks about even the small parts.. She seems like a person who'll become even bigger. ^^ I hope she continues to succeed~~

3. [+380, -51] Ji Eun-ie, always keep singing

4. [+285, -54] Wherever and whenever IU fighting!!

5. [+200, -43] I'm going to watch it live God-IU
