I don't know if it's because compared to the other members, Kian really lives alone like a non-celebrity but I feel like everyone is too immersed in him - in real life, he's a rich building owner ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I remember when Kian said to Lee Si Eon, "Why do you feel bad for me? You're more pitiful, hyung" ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Let's please watch a variety show as a variety show ㅠㅠ

tbh this was one of my favorite episodes from 2020 💜
it felt really real
there was nothing special going on, there was no celebration, it was literally just them going back home after ending work
i legit teared up during Son Dam Bi's part when Dam Bi was talking about how she misses her dad 😭😭😭
and when Narae was legit in pain while removing the props and makeup and kept saying ouch 😭
and she explained that she does it herself because if not the makeup artists that removes will have to stay longer at work 😭😭😭

i really hope that the surge of negative comments from last week doesn't negatively impact the members and their interactions with one another 😞
it's nice to see positive comments this week and comments that are calling out the negative commenters
people really need to think before they speak or even press the comment button...

excited to see Lee Si Eon coming back next week! 💜

 1. [+1928 / -38] I think Kian's appearance really fits the show's purpose - he's honestly 'I' live alone. He doesn't need to walk on eggshells but his ordinary daily life represents this generation's one-person household that doesn't receive attention from others

People are saying that it's a life that succeeded but the people in South Korea who hella ordinarily live alone and are in their mid-30s to 40s, almost all relate to Kian's life. From some point, guests come out on the show and after the fixed cast members became popular, it felts like they're bragging and showing us things like: "I live this well off", "I eat these types of good food", "I'm this fancy", and "I go to good places like this" instead of showing how they live alone. I really hope that they find the original purpose of the show 'I Live Alone', I support Kian's life.

also I understand that Son Dam Bi's remarks towards Kian84 can come off as unnecessary, rude, and overboard but saying things like her brain structure must be weird and analyzing her behavior?

Comments like this makes me not want to watch or translate this show because people overanalyze everything, always finds something to complain about, and go all out on protecting their faves....

I miss the simpler days of 'I Live Alone' where people just enjoyed the interaction between the members and we occasionally had guest appearances that sometimes did feel too scripted (and we laughed about it) but there were also those that just showed us a daily life of a celebrity.

People also need to stop trying to relate to celebrities - they're not ordinary people.
They might appear to be fun and seem to have similar personalities as us but most of the things we see is something they project and even if they try to be their normal selves, keep in mind that they're still on camera and they're aware of the cameras.
It's alright to like a celebrity's image or how they project themselves on TV but don't assume that you know them.

[I Live Alone Episode 342 Recap + Naver TV Comments] The members celebrate the show's 7th anniversary with a live stream

EPISODE 342 RECAP - I Live Alone 7th Anniversary At Home Live Stream

This episode celebrates the show's seventh anniversary. Wow can y'all believe that this show has been airing for seven years already?? For the fourth year anniversary, the members celebrated in Jeju Island. For the fifth anniversary, the members went to LA (t/n: Daniel Henney 🥰). Last year (sixth), they did a sports festival with past guests and close friends and U-Know Yunho did his infamous "Changmin-ah, happy birthday! 'I Live Alone', congrats on your 6th anniversary!!!!!" (t/n: I can't believe this episode aired last year omg time flies)



Sung Hoon and Lee Si Eon arrives at Sung Hoon's Yang Hee's house and unload a bunch of groceries. I died when Kian84 mistook bottles of maple syrup for alcohol LOLOL Sung Hoon informs Si Eon that they're going to make bulgogi and while Sung Hoon makes that, he's giving Si Eon the task of making maple syrup jam(?) - which is apparently similar to dalgona coffee that has been trending lately. (t/n: I've been WFH for the past month due to the pandemic and I made dalgona coffee but omg my arm hurt until the next day 💀) 


I like how when the maple syrup started boiling out of nowhere, both Si Eon and Sung Hoon tried to cool down the syrup in the same way - in such an uhlgan way LOLOL After they heated up the maple syrup, Si Eon began stirring it for 4,000-5,000 times and Sung Hoon started prepping the ingredients to make the bulgogi. He purees the onions in a mixer but.....


He spills it all.... Si Eon whispers to him, "Just put it (the onion that fell in the sink) back in." Si Eon takes over the pureeing duties. Sung Hoon doesn't have any knives at home so they cut the onions with their bare hands. Unlike Sung Hoon, Si Eon's having a hard time mixing the onions in the blend even though he's trying his best at shaking the blender. And it's cause the blender is missing the blades 😅 LOL After prepping all the ingredients, to everyone's surprise, they make a pretty yummy sauce and marinate the beef in the sauce. 

Since they're having difficulty with cooking because of the lack of tools, they call Kian to buy a knife before he comes over but since he's at a convenience store, the only knife available is a utility knife. Jang Do Yeon asks why not just cook with a eyebrow razor if they're thinking of using a utility knife LOL Hwasa commented that she's glad she ate things without knowing what happened behind-the-scenes with cooking. She revealed that she took leftovers of the bulgogi home with her and ate it the next day too. The members noted how hard working Si Eon was when he was helping out in the kitchen and Sung Hoon mentioned that he thinks he couldn't have done it without Si Eon. 💜 

Kian arrives and our helpful boi immediately offers help. Kian also comments that Yang Hee only barks at him. After setting prepping the side dishes (literally it's just cod roe LOL), he continues to stir the maple syrup but also has a staring competition with Yang Hee. Si Eon finishes making the bulgogi with bok choy and the last of the members have arrived!

Kian notes that Hwasa has amazing timing and always arrives once the meal is completely set up LOL Narae tells the uhlgans to hurry up and change into their outfits since the live stream is going to start soon. There was a dress code and the members had to wear something that had rainbows on it. Narae's wearing very colorful pants that give of shaman vibes LOL and Si Eon asks Hwasa if the clothes she came in is what she's going to wear for the dress code and she proudly shows off the lil hints of the rainbow 😎 


Si Eon asks Narae and Hwasa to try the main dish: the bulgogi with bok choy. The mukbang princess approved while the talented head chef for Narae Bar says it's good but jokingly added that she thinks the meat is a bit raw LOL While Narae, Si Eon, and Sung Hoon wrap up a few more tasks in the kitchen, Kian and Hwasa float around at the table and take bites of the food while glancing back at the kitchen. This hella gave me Thanksgiving vibes LOLOL Si Eon asks Kian why he eats while sticking out his tongue and Kian said that his other friend noticed that too. The members said that his tongue reminds them of the cod roe they ate 💀 While everyone is starting to change into their rainbow-themed clothes, Narae notices that Kian still hasn't changed. Kian reassures her that everything is prepared and she just needs to wait for him to transform. 


Two hours before they start the live stream, the members the decorations for the stream and it's balloon letters that spell out 'Rainbow'. Unfortunately, the 'A' ballon got a hole in it so the Rainbow is starting off weak. As Narae stated, the balloons don't give off a "RAIN"-vibe but a "Raaain'-vibe LOLOL While Narae and Hwasa is trying to tape up the 'A'-balloon to prevent it from deflating even more, Si Eon continues with spelling out the rest of the word. 


The members all doubt each other on whether or not the 'N'-balloon is placed correctly. Back in the studio, Jang Do Yeon confidently says, "In what world does an 'N' looks like that!" The members are surprised that Do Yeon was able to spot it that quickly. They revealed that they were trying to figure it out for 30 minutes, had a debate, and eventually figured it out after searching it online LOL Jang Do Yeon revealed that she gets the most excited when she talks about English on 'I Live Alone'. Si Eon went to fix the letter but all he did was flip it so it looks exactly the same LOLOLOL


Kian finally fixes the 'N' and the members resolve this through laughter LOL As they're eating dinner, Park Narae reminds the members that the person who doesn't abide the dress code will receive a punishment. She tells Kian that she doesn't know what he's up to so she has really high expectations. Kian reminds everyone that he attended an art school. He points out that Si Eon's outfit is too weak, Sung Hoon looks like he bought his clothes just cause it had a rainbow on it and Hwasa is in the same boat too. Kian says that if you combine all the colors in the world together, it turns achromatic. After Art84 explains his concept to the members, Narae says, "So what about it?" LOL Art84 did not get the reaction he wanted, our poor intellectual 😢 The members decide on the best and worst dressers for the theme, unsurprisingly, the results are: best dresser - Lee Si Eon, worst dresser - Kian84. 


The members make it pretty obvious on who the worst dresser is and Kian doesn't hold back his disbelief. He begins mumbling, "What's the point of me doing this with people who don't understand art" and Si Eon responds with, "Then quit [the show]" LOLOLOL The punishment is a makeover from Hwasa, the makeup artist who created the infamous look: Narae Bardem. 

There's one hour left before the live stream starts. Hwasa gets ready to give Kian a makeover and he asks if she can make his eyes bigger. Hwasa tells him that she can't do that and asks him to make double eyelids. Kian makes double eyelids with his fingers and Hwasa asks him to stop and Kian asks her, "Do you think you'll fall for me?" LOLOL #Confident Kian's requests for this makeover includes: making his eye look bigger and contouring his face so he looks like Won Bin. Hwasa starts off with trimming his eyebrows and says that he has so much eyebrow hair that it was like Big Foot's. 

 While Hwasa is giving Kian a makeover - Narae, Si Eon, and Sung Hoon review some of the questions that the viewers sent them for the Q&A portion of the live stream. During this portion, Sung Hoon shows that he's not good at answering nonsense questions. For example, a viewer asked "Where is my TV remote control?". Sung Hoon looked extremely confused by this question while Si Eon immediately goes into action and begins looking into his coat jacket and says, "Here it is!" 

Narae gives Sung Hoon another question to try, "Sung Hoon oppa, I want to get married to you. I'm 17 but can you wait for me?" And Sung Hoon quickly answers, "Nope." Si Eon and Kian comment on how boring his answer was and Narae says that the fan can get hurt by the answer. Si Eon gives the question a try and answers, "Let's meet at Dongjak-gu Office in three years." Si Eon is very proud of his answer and the ladies express their satisfaction at his response. Sung Hoon continues to show his struggle with answering these types of questions. The members ask what he does during fanmeetings. Sung Hoon says that his fans don't ask him things like this cause they know that he's not good at answering these things. Narae asks what he does when fans make jokes like, "Oppa, you have gim (seaweed) on your face. Jalsaenggim (handsome)." and Sung Hoon says that he tells them, "Please don't do this next time." #Damn LOL Kian jokingly asks if Sung Hoon meets his fans to fight them and Si Eon says that the reason Sung Hoon does fanmeetings is so that he can sing and dance LOLOL  

It's now Kian's turn at reviewing the questions. The first question is, "A lot of the guests say that they wanted to meet you. What do you think is the secret behind your popularity?" Kian shows confidence by laughing and saying, "Well, let see. I wonder what it is." and Narae immediately cuts the question from their Q&A LOL The next question is, "Who do you like more between Si Eon and Sung Hoon?". Kian quickly answers, "Sung Hoon-ie hyung" and when Narae asks for him to elaborate, he says, "Just take a look, he's better." Kian gives Si Eon a reassuring pat on the back while Si Eon gives Hwasa a sharpie and asks for her to draw Kian's eyebrows with it. Kian reassures Si Eon that his answer is a joke so Si Eon asks, "Then are you saying you like me me...." Before Kian can answer, Sung Hoon brings attention onto the butcher paper. During all this, he and Si Eon were writing out the pronunciation of the lyrics to 'One Summer Night' in Korean so that it's easier for Kian and Hwasa to sing the song. Kian still struggles with singing the lyrics and Hwasa says, "What are you going to do if you can't even read hangul" LOLOL 

It's 20 minutes before the live stream and Sung Hoon sets up the tech equipment. Hwasa completes Kian's makeover and he asks her if he looks pretty. Hwasa doesn't respond LOLOL Narae notes that Hwasa is an honest person. It's four minutes before the stream goes live and the members are setting up the live stream title and thumbnail.

The stream didn't start yet but many people were already joining and expressed their excitement in the chat box. Kian slumps back and begins digging for something. Narae reveals that Kian is taking his medicine to calm his nerves. It's a minute before the stream goes live and already 324 people are waiting for it. Will the stream go smoothly?

In the studio, they showed a YouTube video where the person combined all the primary colors and it turned black. Kian continued to explain his concept and said, "Clear black is gray" and then Jang Do Yeon concludes the debate by saying, "Alright, you punk (그래 이 새끼야)" which sounds like "그레이 색이야" (it's gray). LOLOL

Although we didn't get a big trip for this year's anniversary, I really liked that they took precautions for everyone's health and the live stream was actually intimate cause it directly involved the viewers too 💜
