[I Live Alone Roundup] Han Hye Jin reveals her knee issues, Park Narae's mother makes an appearance

Nationwide ratings for this week's episode: 11.4% (cr. Naver TV)

1. [+2559, -45] Kian's advice about living a second life.. You can sense the sincerity. It seems like Hye Jin unni also felt it from the look of her expression ㅋㅋ  I hope Hye Jin unni can find a different hobby like Song Kyung Ah.. I hope she doesn't hang her whole life up on the title of being a model.. Health is the best ^^ My knees aren't good too.

2. [+1565, -11] Rather than it being an addiction, it seems like it's more of an obsession that was caused by her job......

3. [+1380, -65] If the members of 'I Live Alone' make it fun by bustling, then people create a fuss and say don't be too friendly. People make a fuss and say show people living alone, accordingly to the show's purpose. If they show footage of people living alone then they create a fuss saying it's boring. What do you want them to do ㅋㅋ Just do one thing. I think it's fun

4. [+1401, -94] 'I Live Alone' has so many freaking mother-in-law bugs like 'Infinite Challenge' and 'Knowing Bros' ㅠㅠ If you don't want to watch it then don't watch it, you're terrorizing the 'dislike'-button and posting hate comments, pathetic ㅋㅋ Watching the original members is so much more fun than watching new people (t/n: Mother-in-law viewers are basically viewers that nag and complain about every factor about a show... 'Infinite Challenge' had notorious ones...)

1. [+3219, -51] The content that's relatable to everyone if they're a daughter ㅠㅠㅠ Park Narae really seems like a good person, I hope she has a long run ahead of her!

2. [+1975, -32] I know a young person like me shouldn't judge but even the mother is quite humble and seems like a good person even though her daughter is a celebrity... It seems like Narae exactly resembles that personality, it's a wannabe mother-daughter relationship that's really nice to watch.. ^^

3. [+1672, -35] During her friend's bridal shower, Narae said that her family was struggling a lot and that she received a lot of help from her friends, when she cried my heart hurt but it's quite nice to see that right now she's doing this well and she's sending her mom off on trips, I hope she gets to go on even better trips

4. [+1623, -77] It's just Lee Si Eon and Simon D who were missing today but it's really empty. I feel like it's quiet especially because Si Eon-nim is missing, he created nicknames and would joke around a lot on the side

5. [+1006, -34] Narae is thoughtful and nice~ Narae is such a nice person

[Post-Drama Interview] Actor Kim Nam Hee of 'Mr. Sunshine' looks back at his role as Takashi Mori

Original Source (tenasia via Naver): 'Mr. Sunshine' Kim Nam Hee, "I have to surpass Takashi"

tenasia: "How did you come to appear on 'Mr. Sunshine'?"
  • Kim Nam Hee: Last summer, I went to audition. While conversing with director Lee Eung Bok, the acting came out naturally. At first, I did a free performance but I did a monologue from the play 'Hamlet'. I think he enjoyed it, he told me it was a role of a Japanese and asked me to perform the lines written in Korean in the Japanese I know. Because I don't know any Japanese, I just used all the words I know and just saved the vibe (laughs). He told me that he wanted to hear the tone of my voice when I spoke Japanese. That's why I ended up with the role of Mori Takashi.

tenasia: The director must've liked the way you spoke Japanese.
  • Kim Nam Hee: After completing the audition, the other production crew said, "Director Lee Eung Bok has never had this long of a conversation with an unknown actor before filming." They tipped me off that, "You might get the role of Takashi". I was also curious.

tenasia: You didn't think that you were going to get the role of a Japanese, right?
  • Kim Nam Hee: I didn't know at all. It was to the point where I was thinking, "Why was I chosen?". After giving me the role of Takashi, he told me that I was Eugene Choi's friend and I was going to see him again as an enemy. At that time, the script wasn't released at all.

tenasia: Before the drama, have you ever learned Japanese?
  • Kim Nam Hee: Not at all (laughs). The production staff stressed the importance of it. It might've not been their intention to burden me but they said that my co-star is Lee Byung Hun sunbae-nim and said, "Do you think you can do well?", at that time something like pride developed. I said, "Of course, I feel like it's going to be fun? I can do well"...Haha. During the first filming, I was overwhelmed by Lee Byung Hun sunbae-nim (laughs). I can't speak Japanese and because there's significance to the role, I felt special but I thought, what do I do now? I felt stuck.

tenasia: In the future, as an actor, I'm curious about your goal and direction.
  • Kim Nam Hee: I think the criteria for the next work will be if I'm going to play a bad guy or not. Next time, I hope I can play a role that speaks Korean rather than a foreign language (laughs). Who would have thought that I would talk about goals like this, I didn't know that I would be this desperate for our language. Haha. The viewers who saw Takashi must've been inscribed [by the character]. I feel like if I don't work hard enough to make them forget about Takashi then I'll be confined by Takashi for a long time. My goal is to become a star that's good at acting. I want to become an excellent actor who touches hearts. My dream is to be an actor who leaves good works even though time passes and makes masterpieces.

1. [+2170, -14] "Eugene, this music box is originally yours"

2. [+1225, -19] "What do you think the children of those who were in the Righteous Army in 1895 are doing right now?"

3. [+859, -11] When he was acting, I was watching while trembling but he's really amazing

4. [+587, -11] He's seriously really cool, the outcome of hard work

5. [+496, -14] Takashi: "Eugene, unlike you, I was originally of high status in my homeland...This music box is yours"

6. [+236, -1] Nam Hee, I really enjoyed your acting (t/n: In the original comment, the commenter wrote it in the way Kim Nam Hee speaks his Korean in the drama - it's hard to directly translate that pronunciation so I directly translated it into English)

[I Live Alone] Chuseok Special

Nationwide rating for Chuseok special:  7.9% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+3519, -71] I don't know about anything else but it's certain that Park Narae hard carried ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's nice to see her taking care of Simon D who recently joined so that he doesn't get embarrassed
↪ [+125, -6] I seriously really like Narae unni ㅋㅋ She's seriously really funny and lives hard

2. [+2939, -893] Ah Han Hye Jin and Jun Hyun Moo, no matter how close you are - know the line for when you're throwing blunt remarks, it felt like they might cross the line so it was risky ㅠ

3. [+2156, -326] I know that Jun Hyun Moo, Han Hye Jin and Park Narae are close but it feels like they're kind of treating her roughly even during Summer Hyun Moo School Park Narae said her mother doesn't watch gag comedy shows - so that she can at least watch 'I Live Alone', I hope you can respect one another and joyful scenes can come out
↪ [+207, -34] Park Narae was also hella teasing Jun Hyun Moo? Age, face, body hair, body and more - how many did she tease about? She just always starts a fight? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
↪ [+105, -39] Jun Hyun Moo and Han Hye Jin are more severe than Narae's joking around, look at today's game ㅡㅡ

4. [+1477, -103] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Simon D Narae ㅋㅋㅋ They click really well ah they're funny and cute - crazy

5. [+1300, -209] Jun Hyun Moo and Han Hye Jin needs to grow their minds a bit to care for others. Don't try to put others down to recover from your own complex.
↪ [+137, -29] When Park Narae shits on Lee Si Eon or Lee Si Eon and Kian84 shits on Park Narae and Han Hye Jin, did your ears go somewhere? These losers are trying to ruin a variety show by acting like mother-in-laws

This Chuseok special didn't get good reactions...
Many viewers criticized it for just rehashing old episodes into a compilation and labelling it as a "special" when it was basically a rebroadcast of old episodes...
Personally, I feel like a lot of the mother-in-law viewers from MuDo moved to I Live Alone...

[Post-Drama Interview] Jo Woo Ri reveals the stress she received from having to play Hyun Soo Ah in 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty'

Jo Woo Ri isn't a rookie actor, it has already been seven years since her debut. She's appeared in many other dramas and in recent years, she appeared in 'Witch at Court' and 'Queen of Mystery Season 2'. For the first time since her debut, Jo Woo Ri received the opportunity to play her first lead role.

Hyun Soo Ah is a character who's a natural beauty and in middle school, she's bullied by others. After Hyun Soo Ah realizes the truth of life that: 'If a pretty kid knows that they're pretty then regular people get annoyed', she works hard towards her prettiness and uses her prettiness as power. Because Hyun Soo Ah is a character that's prettier than others and hasn't gotten any work done, Jo Woo Ri said that she was greatly burdened by the role of Hyun Soo Ah - who's chasing perfection. Jo Woo Ri said, "Unlike Hyun Soo Ah, I don't have a fancy face but I tried to be pretty through styling and clothes, I tried to dress in a 'shalala' vibe."

In the past, Jo Woo Ri was able to avoid criticism about looks but after playing this role, she said that she realized it's a celebrity's fate to be judged on their looks. "In the past, I wasn't able to relate to it [being judged for your looks by others]. While working on other dramas, I was able to work on it comfortably, like myself, without burden but with this drama, it's a very popular work and it's a character who's prettiness has to be acknowledged, so there was judgement about external factors." The actress added, "It was my first time being judged for my looks so it was hard. I wondered how I would be able to recover from this. There are limits to my face and I later became sad after receiving these judgements. So that's why I stopped looking at comments so that I can protect my self-esteem. I just thought, "Let's work hard at my job, look at the script more, let's practice more hard at acting". I thought, will people even know if my heart hurts after looking at the comments. So that's why I just thought, let's work hard."

1. [+1153, -10] Because she's so good at acting spiteful I didn't like her while watching the drama but you worked hard, Soo Ah-ssi!! I hope we can meet again in a good work ㅎㅎㅎ

2. [+901, -24] She looks exactly the same as when she was young ㅋㅋ These days, there's a lot of fancy facial features through the generalized surgeries and procedures so I think she matched Soo Ah well. If you go to an actual campus, girls who have a pretty style like her are innocent so they have a lot of popularity ㅎㅎ I was surprised because she had different vibes from when she was playing a nice character who's getting ready to take their police academy exam in 'Queen of Mystery 2' ㅎ I hope she ends up well in the future as well~

3. [+414, -15] Because she's a face that hasn't received surgery, her face comes out really naturally on the screen so that might be why she received negative comments. Her face looks exactly the same as when she was younger ㅠㅠ She's fucking pretty. I'm saying this just in case you don't know but don't get any surgery/procedures done on your face, you're beautiful as you are right now. (t/n: This is a picture from when she was younger, she really looks exactly the same LOL - )

4. [+342, -11] Because she's so good at acting, while watching I was really annoyed ㅋㅋㅋ I hope they do a second season, always hwaiting!!

5. [+201, -7] She also came out in 'Descendants of the Sun'.....

6. [+87, -2] It's a drama that criticized lookism but in the comments, people would say that Cha Eun Woo is prettier than Im Soo Hyang and Jo Woo Ri.. I feel like our country will never be able to get rid of this

Aww...
I feel bad for her ㅠㅠ
Her acting wasn't bad in the drama but I feel like some viewers just had really high expectations for a fictional character, you can't really expect someone to look like a goddess LOL
I hope they make a second season~

[I Live Alone Roundup] Jung Ryeo Won reveals that she's a huge fan of the show

Nationwide ratings for this episode: 12.8% (cr. Nielsen Korea)

1. [+2919, -63] I almost died from the cuteness when Yali rolled over ㅠㅠ Because of Jung Ryeo Won's slim figure and particular atmosphere, even if she wears something like a straw mat, she's pretty (t/n: Yali/얄리 is the white/beige cat that's really affectionate, I'm not sure how to properly romanize the cat's name so it might be wrong! But it's pronounced like: Yah-lee)

2. [+2164, -77] I like Ryeo Won's house and she's easy-going

3. [+1786, -81] Because it's an episode that features an actress, I didn't have huge expectations for it to be fun but I had a really fun time watching it ㅎㅎ She's good at acting, pretty, stylish, and on top of that she's easy-going! She became more favorable, it's good that she came out [on the show], and the members got along well with her and liked her

4. [+1309, -78] Lee Si Eon being annoying at Simon D's house was so freaking funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+786, -49] Jung Ryeo Won is so nice - she's the best, I want to raise a cat like Angki, my heart flutters so much, I want to see Angki

6. [+598, -7] Women know. The ahjussi outfit that Jung Ryeo Won bought at Dongmyo is pretty because it's Jung Ryeo Won [who's wearing it]. Even Suzy can't pull that off. Gong Hyo Jin or Jung Ryeo Won, that long and slender vibe completes fashion

7. [+504, -28] Wow Han Hye Jin and Jun Hyun Moo seemed like a real married couple ㅋㅋㅋ I feel like they're going to get married next year

1. [+773, -46] Jung Ryeo Won is so easy-going!!

2. [+491, -32] Jung Ryeo Won was a lot more natural than Kim Sarang.

3. [+513, -75] It's fun when guests come out but no matter what, the 'I Live Alone' team is the most fun ㅋㅋ

4. [+365, -20] Next time, I also want to see her house after she's done with the interior ^^

5. [+297, -23] I feel like even Jung Ryeo Won's personality is good ㅎ

Ahhhhh I love her so much ♡
And I love how she's such a huge fan of the show, she was fangirling over the members LOL
And her cats are so lovable ♡♡♡

[Post-Drama Interview] Im Soo Hyang reveals that she initially felt burdened with playing a 20-year-old college student

On the drama wrapping up, the actress said, "While working on 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty', I was really happy and myself, as well, learned a lot through this drama and received healing and I hoped the viewers did as well." The actress also touched up on the fact that many people expressed that they're waiting for a second season and they're feeling a lot of lingering, "It hasn't been long since our drama ended but many people are saying that they're waiting for a second season and that there's a lot lingering. I also really want to feel that lingering. First of all, I really wanted to say thank you very much for the love."

The original webtoon received a lot of love and after news broke out about the drama adaptation, many netizens were curious about who was going to play the role of Kang Mi Rae. Playing the role of a plastic surgery beauty can be burdensome for actors. On this topic, Im Soo Hyang said, "At the beginning, I was burdened. There was the surgery but twenty years old? Can I [play that role]? People always say I look mature and that picture with Park Bo Young-ssi too. Because I had thoughts wondering if I could do this [the role], I said I couldn't do it. But I'm a fan of the original work. I read the original work and the character of Mi Rae, looking past the plastic surgery set-up, is really lovable. As an actor, it's a character you want. If you look at it another way, throughout the past, I've played a psychopath, a killer yakuza, gisaeng so I thought, 'Why can't I play this role?'. So that's why I did it and I think I made the right decision. Many people liked it and were able to relate to it so I'm thankful."

The interviewer asked if she tends to pay a lot of attention to her appearance and she revealed, "I pay a lot of attention to it too. I go to the dermatologist and exercise. Maintaining is my job so I can't do anything about it. I have to show a good image. But we're actors and we have to show our acting but sometimes, I work really hard at acting but they don't see things like that and focus on the external things and I get sad."

1. [+633, -26] You didn't look out of place and I liked it

2. [+344, -28] Looking past the drama, it was her real character ㅋㅋㅋㅋ her character in real life ㅋㅋ

3. [+282, -12] She was just Kang Mi Rae~ Her acting skills are the best

4. [+179, -8] I became a fan after watching the drama!!! Her acting was a perfect match~

Original Source (tenasia via Naver): Im Soo Hyang, "I'm going to love myself even more now"

tenasia: Kang Mi Rae grows by learning that your appearance doesn't guarantee happiness. What about you? Did you grow along with Kang Mi Rae?
  • Im Soo Hyang: Yes. I knew my worth and I think that if I love myself then others will look at me with worth. It's not just the pain I received but I also thought about the pain I inflicted on others. Now, I'm going to love myself a bit more. Then others will be able to love me too.

1. [+255, -2] Mi Rae, good job~~

2. [+178, -2] You're really good at acting

3. [+82, -3] Thank you so much for playing the role of Mi Rae and be happy

4. [+75, -5] It's the only drama I watched but now I have nothing to watch ㅠㅠ Soo Hyang looks prettier with long hair so I hoped that she would come out with long hair but.. I was happy for two months, thank you for your work and have fun in Cebu~~ (t/n: the drama's team is going to Cebu for their vacation)

Actress Jung Ryeo Won reveals her house for the first time on 'I Live Alone'

1. [+604, -26] Purchasing your own home 17 years after your debut is normal, the people who purchases buildings that are worth billions after just debuting reek of sponsors

2. [+155, -16] At first, it wasn't like this but the more you see her, I feel like she has a concept~~ (t/n: this isn't a negative comment saying she has a concept and that she's fake, it's more like they're saying she has a basic gist/idea of what she wants to do and what not. It's kind of difficult to directly translate the word 개념 into English)

3. [+117, -2] Congratulations, when will I...

4. [+93, -1] It's not that she didn't purchase a home because she didn't have money but she just didn't buy one during that time

5. [+76, -1] Why do you think she didn't buy a house in Korea... Her real home is Australia.... ㅡㅡㅋ

So the images and comments on Naver isn't loading on my browser...
I've tried multiple different browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) but it's not loading on any of them...
Just wanted to give a heads up that I won't be able to translate Naver comments until this issue is fixed. Hopefully it's an entire site issue and not just me ㅠㅠ

[I Live Alone Roundup] Kian84 interviews his married friends, Simon D goes on his first trip alone

1. [+1693, -98] Kian and Lee Mal Nyeon are so funny ㅋㅋ

2. [+1132, -18ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ "Because of the developing silly answers, Kian gave up on the interview" they said it's silly answers ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. [+1106, -22] Lee Mal Nyeon kind of has a roughly vibe but these days, he directly picks things.. I feel like he's a good hyung to Kian

4. [+1046, -16] Rather than a married couple's interview, I feel like it would've been more helpful to interview someone who's divorced.. At the fact Lee Mal Nyeon said, I slapped my knee.. That people won't show the dark side.. Kyah~ I wish I had a friend like that

5. [+785, -52] It was so freaking funny when Kian said, "As expected, an unpretentious day" ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

1. [+815, -40] The island of chinilpa Min Young Hui's grandson (t/n: chinilpa(s) are basically Korean people who sold their country. While other Koreans were suffering because of being colonized by Japan, chinilpas and their families lived perfectly fine and most still do - most of them are still wealthy)

2. [+779, -154] Why did it just have to be Nami Island? Just how much money did they receive to go there and do promotion????

3. [+620, -29] That's right, even if it's small things like this, for his mental health - even if it's for filming, you need your own social skills. Good job, for your health and these days, his face is looking a lot better, thank goodness

4. [+509, -19] The descendants of independence activists are ripped apart by poverty and are barely surviving but seeing how the descendants of chinilpas are living in enormous amounts of wealth is really sad

5. [+525, -77] You have nowhere else to promote so you promote Nami Island???? Even if you receive less money, there's a lot of good places???? ㅡㅡ I'm hella disappointed at the production staff
