[Article Translation] Two years later, a student messages the man who intervened while he was being physically assaulted

The OP posted about this situation on Bobae Dream, a car forum. 2 years ago, the OP posted on the forum about witnessing a student being slapped by multiple people in an alleyway. He didn't just overlook it but stopped the assault and reported it to the police. At that time, he gave the student a ride to the police station and personally told him, "Don't be scared. It's alright. If anything happens, call ahjussi," and gave the student his number.

Two years later, he received a call from a number he didn't recognize it so he replied with the message, "I'm in a meeting right now. If you leave me a message, I'll get back to you." The person who replied to him was the student from two years ago. He called the student back immediately. The student is now a college student and will be enlisting soon.

Caller ID: [Blurred Name] Student
OP: I'm in a meeting right now. If you leave me a message, I'll get back to you.
Student: Hello. I don't know if you remember me but I'm the student who was assaulted by his sunbae 2 years ago. I should've contacted you sooner and gave my thanks but I'm a bit late.
OP: Thank you for not forgetting to contact me and for letting me hear your bright voice. Your school life must've been hard but I'm proud that you were able to endure it. Before you go to the army, make sure to contact uncle

The OP revealed that he's a man who's raising a 6 month old child and the reason he couldn't just look past the student being assaulted 2 years ago was because he's in a position where he's raising a son. But he was also worried that he might've made the student's situation worse by intervening but now he's certain that he made the right decision after the student contact him 2 years later.

1. [+6375, -35] If he didn't save the student then, the student might've fell deep into shame and you don't know how long they might've been bullied.. He's a really cool person, the two could've met and talked over this while sharing a drink~ This is a really heartwarming article

2. [+2575, -27] They're both cool. The courage and good will of the person who helped and the young student who didn't forget that and remembered to be thankful.

3. [+1179, -23] Turning a blind eye even though they saw injustice and not being able to intervene is what the majority will do. He's amazing.
